Attending the CGS Summer School Program at Business Park Struer has been one of the most enriching experiences of my academic journey. The CTIF Global Capsule Summer School on Multi Business Model Innovation has been a truly transformative experience. Over the course of three intensive weeks, we explored how businesses function at a deeper level and applied that learning in real-world settings.

Through engaging business visits to Sound Hub Denmark and the Klimatorium, we gained valuable exposure to innovative ecosystems. One of the most impactful parts of the program was working hands-on with Salling Autogenbrug, where we applied the BMC-BEE STAR model and BEE tools to develop and pitch a real-life business model aimed at solving sustainability challenges—turning knowledge into action.

These tools gave us the clarity and structure to understand and analyze complex business models in the most effective way. The experience has not only deepened my understanding of innovation but also contributed immensely to my personal and professional growth.

The term ‘business’ is often used loosely, without a true understanding of its essence. The Multi Business Model Innovation (MBMI) summer school in Denmark redefined what ‘business’ truly means for me. While I have studied various management theories and analytical frameworks, it was the BEE tools that fundamentally shifted my perspective on how to analyze and understand a business.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to be part of an intensive and eye-opening program focused on Multi-Business Model Innovation in Denmark. This journey was more than just an academic experience—it was a deeply enriching personal and professional transformation, filled with powerful learnings, cultural exploration, and global networking.

What made this program truly exceptional was the approach and dedication of our professors—Dr. Peter Lindgren and Ms. Jane Flarup. Their unique style of teaching fostered a vibrant, discussion-driven classroom environment that encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Each session felt like a conversation rather than a lecture, where every participant’s thoughts and ideas were valued and respected. Their enthusiasm and personal warmth created an atmosphere that inspired all of us to push our boundaries and dive deep into the world of innovation.

The tools and methodologies we were introduced to—Beestar, BeeBoard, and the Beelab Cube (Business Lab)—are cutting-edge innovations developed in Denmark and are not found anywhere else in the world. These frameworks gave us practical insights into analyzing and innovating business models in a structured, impactful way.

Living in Struer—The City of Sound, added an entirely new dimension to this journey. The warmth of the local people, the town’s creative energy, and its thriving startup ecosystem made us feel instantly at home. One of the most memorable highlights was visiting a globally renowned sound lab, led by an inspiring founder whose humility and passion were truly admirable. His personal tour and insights offered a masterclass in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Beyond academics, this journey taught me the value of community, adaptability, and perspective. It gave me a broader vision of how business models can shape the future and how critical innovation is in driving meaningful change. This experience has significantly expanded my mindset, and I am eager to apply what I’ve learned in my future endeavors.

I want to share an incredible experience , where I participated in an immersive program centered on multi-business model innovation held in Denmark. It was truly an unforgettable journey, filled with insights, inspiring moments, and a wonderful cultural exchange.
One of the standout aspects of this program was the teaching approach of our professors—Dr. Peter Lindgren and Jane Flarup. Their passion and expertise made each session feel more like an engaging dialogue than a traditional lecture. They created a welcoming, supportive atmosphere where we were encouraged to think critically and share our ideas freely. Their warmth and encouragement made each of us feel like a valued participant, rather than just a student, and this open, interactive environment allowed us to deeply connect with the course material.
Beyond the classroom, the program offered unique tools and methodologies for analyzing and innovating business models—tools that are not available anywhere else in the world such as Beestar, BeeBoard and the Business Lab (beelab cube)

This hospitality helped me to be more open and outgoing, allowing me to fully embrace every aspect of the journey.
One of the most impactful parts of my experience was our visits to various businesses, where we met with founders and observed operations firsthand. Living in Struer, known as the “City of Sound” and a hub for emerging startups, was particularly special. I had the privilege of meeting the owner of a prominent sound lab which is the world’s best lab for innovation in sound, who was an inspiring, lively, and humble personality. He gave us a personal tour of the facility, sharing insights that left a lasting impression on me.
This program has transformed my understanding of business, giving me a broader, more strategic perspective and reinforcing the importance of mindful decision-making and creative problem-solving. I look forward to applying these lessons in my studies and sharing what I’ve learned with my peers.

I had the distinct privilege of attending the CGC Fall School on Multi Business Modelling and Innovation (MBMI) in Denmark from 7^th October to 25^th October 2024, a course designed to provide a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience in the realm of business innovation and strategic modelling. Led by Professor Peter Lindgren, Vice President of CGC, the course not only deepened my understanding of the key drivers of business success but also introduced me to a variety of cutting-edge tools and methodologies through direct, practical engagement.

As an educator, I found the course to be incredibly valuable, particularly in how it bridged theoretical concepts with real-world applications. The use of the Bee-Business tools was particularly noteworthy, providing a dynamic way to model and assess business opportunities in diverse sectors. The hands-on experience allowed me to apply these tools in a meaningful way, gaining insights that will undoubtedly enhance my teaching approach in the future.

One of the most enriching aspects of the course was the series of industrial site visits. These visits provided a rare opportunity to observe and analyze the technicalities and complexities of business operations firsthand. The course MBMI under Prof. Peter Lindgren was an experience I cherish. As a faculty at the Business School of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, in the Sindh province of Pakistan, I have already taught courses like Business Model at the graduate level. However, this course changed my horizon and equipped me to explore many other Business Models, i.e. Multi-Business Model Innovation (MBMI). The trainer’s attention to detail was awe-inspiring, and the environment was state-of-the-art. Another addition to our course was the value addition made by Prof. Sofoklis Kyriazakos, titled Turning Digital Skills into Start-Up Skills. The entire program offers a truly holistic experience, and completion would change one’s mindset to an innovative mind. The BeeLab helped to look at businesses from a different angle, and it helped resolve complicated problems by looking at them from a different angle. As I returned to my country, I made the contents part of my various courses. The true hands-on approach was very important, and Prof. Peter gave each participant dedicated time; the meetings with Prof. Ramjee were also fruitful. I have used the “As Is” and “To Be” approaches in every course I teach in the business school, and this approach has helped spark innovative behavior among my students. A key aspect was that the consortium included 6 Universities. Being part of a multicultural group of individuals was an honor. I made many contacts, and I keep in touch to date. Administrative support from the staff was commendable. I would mention the support from Gitte Kingo Andersen and a fellow Sadia Anwar. The campus vibe was peaceful and very friendly, with professionals everywhere and the innovation hub with entrepreneurs and startups. An individual truly has some of that innovativeness rub on themselves. Herning was a very clean, full oxygen-filled city; on a personal note, the stay of 8 weeks indeed helped me resolve my allergy problems, and I am benefitting to date.

Looking back at October 2022, I was given the incredible opportunity to embark on my first international internship with the CTIF Global Capsule at Aarhus University, Denmark. Even today, two years later, the experience gives me goosebumps as I reflect on how much it has shaped my professional journey. From the beginning, I realized that this was more than just an internship—it was a transformative experience. Staying with a wonderful elderly couple, Hans and his wife, in a safe and welcoming environment organized by CGC was the first sign of the program’s deep commitment to our well-being. This simple yet thoughtful arrangement spoke volumes about the values CGC instills in its interns.
The MBMI internship began with a powerful introduction to Dr. Peter Lindgren, whose insights and teachings have impacted how I view business. Dr. Lindgren’s emphasis on a practical approach to business—in contrast to the often-emotional decision-making that can ensnare entrepreneurs—was a revelation. His guidance on understanding business models, including the beestar framework, laid the foundation for the next phase of our learning.
As the internship progressed, we were tasked with applying these lessons to real-world businesses. Over the next two weeks, we delved deep into three ongoing businesses: Airport Operations, SallingAutomberg and Frontego.
I had the privilege of being part of the Frontego Team, where we conducted a thorough analysis of the business, focusing on key areas for improvement and growth. Our collective effort and insights led to the projection of an additional ₹18 crore in profits over the next four years—a testament to the power of practical learning and teamwork.
This hands-on experience wasn’t just about immediate business results. It fundamentally altered my perspective on approaching challenges, identifying opportunities, and executing strategies with precision.
Upon returning to India, I used the knowledge and confidence I had gained to launch my own software firm. Today, I am proud to say that it’s thriving—a direct result of the lessons and experiences I took home from Aarhus.

I attended the MBMI course at CGC-Denmark in October 2022. The MBMI program helped me understand how the business ecosystem works and what businesses need to understand about their Resources, Finances, and Marketing. It has helped me dive deep into the business for which I do digital marketing—presenting the product, understanding the consumers’ needs, and marketing the product. As Digital marketers, we must look for the particular audience that can help the business grow. This course has been instrumental in advancing my professional career.

My colleagues and I, along with our students, participated in the MBMI course at CGC in Denmark in the summer of 2019. As a part of our course, Prof Peter Lindgren introduced us to a Multi Business Model Innovation (MBMI) approach. Before this, we referred to the business model Canvas, which had a singular approach. Prof Peter also introduced us to the beelabs (cubes), the bill apps, and the beatbox. He gave us numerous case studies and real time scenarios to experience the multi business model innovation concept.
We worked on a business case biochar, which was given to us by Mr Ove Munch of FRISCH INDUSTRIES. While working on this business case, we understood the power of the digital beelab. Returning to India, we introduced this approach to the students and nearby Industries. Industries have acknowledged the necessity of adopting the Multi-Business Model Innovation Approach and recognize the benefits of collaborating with academia to leverage the beelab. After returning to India, our college, KIT’s College of Engineering Kolhapur (KITCoEK), became a Member of CGC Denmark. Prof. Ramjee Prasad inaugurated the center at KITCoEK.

The Multi Business Model Innovation (MBMI) workshop at CGC-Denmark in 2019 was a significant turning point in my education and career. During the six-week course, I had the opportunity to learn about the MBMI model from Prof. Peter Lindgren and apply it directly to a real-world problem. My project involved working with Bluetown, a Danish Telecom Company, where we addressed a specific business challenge. Our research during this time was published as a conference paper in WPMC 2020 and was published with IEEE.
This experience expanded my understanding of how business strategies and technology can work together to solve complex problems. It also gave me the confidence to start my marketing agency, Viral Inbound, right after completing my MMS. I’ve been running this agency for the past four years, and the knowledge I gained from the MBMI course has been a valuable foundation for my work.

My experience in learning the Multi Business Model Innovation (MBMI) course at CGC Denmark was incredibly transformative and enlightening. Topics range from business model generation and value proposition design to market analysis, financial forecasting, and strategic innovation. They employ innovative teaching methods, including case studies, group projects, and interactive workshops, which engage students and encourage critical thinking.
My internship at a startup focused on sustainable practices was particularly rewarding. It enabled me to work on actual projects, interact with industry professionals, and gain insights into contemporary business challenges. The course also excels in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. Through workshops and seminars, students are encouraged to think like entrepreneurs, identify opportunities, assess risks, and develop innovative solutions. This mindset is crucial for anyone aiming to start their own business or work within established organizations, as it promotes proactive and strategic thinking. A unique aspect of the MBMI Course is its focus on sustainability and social responsibility. Students are encouraged to consider the broader impact of business decisions on society and the environment, ensuring their models are profitable but also ethical and sustainable. This focus is particularly relevant in today’s business world, where companies are increasingly expected to address global challenges.

In the course, we learned about business model innovation; and began by analyzing the ‘As-Is’ situation of a business model. We went through different aspects, and afterward, we started to map the relationship between the elements in the business model. After this process, we had an overview of your business model and its relations. In the end, we started to map a ‘To-Be’ business model, and all the time, you can see how a change in the business model affects the rest of the elements in the business model. This gave me an understanding of how to work with different business models in a business, and I started to monitor and see the economic output from the different business models.
This overview made it easier to see how the different business models (products) affected the overall business and added great knowledge to my professional journey.

When we first started, we were enthusiastic about learning numerous things to aid us in our careers or real life. We learned about the BEESTAR, BEEBOARD, BEECUBE, HOURGLASS, and Some New Business Models. BEESTAR was a tool with seven dimensions, and BEEBOARD was an analysis tool that helped us analyze and plot the cubes on BEEBOARD, which consisted of the PLC graph (Product life cycle). However, there are four more steps before arriving at the PLC, which are also shown on the BEEBOARD and are called Idea generation, Concept, Prototype, and Implementation. The BEEBOARD is a way to analyze any company’s or PLC’s business. The BEESTAR is a tool that assists us in determining the relationships with our customers and their dimensions, which implies what we look at, what they look at, and how our businesses are connected to one another. The BEECUBE is a large tool that looks like a room with a cubed form. We can walk inside and utilize all the tools inside the BEECUBE. The HOURGLASS tool has several business elements to determine how many variables your firm has. Other business models, such as the U-process Business Model, were comparable to our PGDM research. The internship that we had was at the MIDTJYLLAND AIRPORT. As the airport was losing money, we had to think about plotting things on BEESTAR to collect their dimensions and what they were doing. BEEBOARD plotting was done by analyzing the financials and these things we used to do in the BEECUBE.
As an MBA student, the business model I learned from Prof. Lindgren was very useful for my studies. It helped me solve problems and generate business ideas. If I try to start my business in the near future, it will definitely help me.
