6G Briefing – “Reimagining Freedom: IA and the Afro-Brazilian Legacy”

“In this special edition, at the Museum of Image and Sound of São Paulo – MIS now in November, we present the innovative work of Thiago Nicodemo and his team at the Public Archive of the State of São Paulo, who use AI to accurately reconstruct the faces of freed Afro-Brazilians from the 19th century based on descriptions by the renowned jurist Luís Gama. By transforming archives into living digital images, the project opens new possibilities for cultural preservation, education, and historical justice, demonstrating how AI can restore identities and strengthen collective memories.

As curator and Chairman of 6GBriefing, scientist at CTIF Global Capsule (CGC) and editor-in-chief at River Publishers, along with our 6GBriefing team and associates, reinforce the role of emerging technologies in social inclusion and in the protection of historical heritage and human. I especially thank Adauto Soares, from UNESCO Brazil, for introducing me to this work!” Paulo Sergio Rufino Henrique said.
