As part of an international research mission, Paulo Sergio Rufino Henrique, scientist at CTIF Global Capsule (CGC) and a leading researcher in 6G networks and quantum technologies, is currently visiting Brazil to strengthen scientific collaborations between Europe and Latin America.
During this visit, Paulo had the unique opportunity to connect with leading experts at Hospital das Clínicas in São Paulo, the largest hospital in Latin America and a renowned global institution for its pioneering research and cutting-edge medical practices.
A key highlight of this trip was a visit to the LEPIC – Laboratory for Teaching, Research, and Innovation in Surgery at HCFMUSP, where he engaged in fruitful discussions with Professor Ricardo Abdalla, a leading surgeon and researcher driving advancements in robotics applied to medicine, alongside distinguished professors and engineers from the University of São Paulo (USP).
The conversation centered on the convergence of next-generation technologies, including 6G networks, AI, and robotics, which are particularly enabling remote surgery, real-time diagnostics, and precision healthcare as future 6G networks promise ultra-low latency and hyper-reliable connectivity, their role in transforming remote robotic surgery is undeniable — a synergy that can bridge geographical barriers and make specialized surgical care accessible anywhere in the world.
“This was an outstanding exchange of knowledge about the future of healthcare and surgical innovation,” said Paulo. “It is truly exciting to witness how robotics, medical science, and next-generation connectivity will converge to shape the future of medicine.”
Paulo expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and collaborative spirit extended by Wagner de Oliveira (USP Engineering), Professor Graça Bressan, and Professor Ricardo Abdalla, who are leading voices in Brazil’s research ecosystem, driving innovation at the intersection of engineering and medicine.
The visit reaffirms CTIF Global Capsule’s mission to foster multidisciplinary research that connects 6G, AI, quantum technologies, and societal applications, pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve in sectors like healthcare, education, sustainability, and digital inclusion.
As the world moves closer to the era of 6G and beyond, CTIF Global Capsule remains committed to building global collaborations that turn visionary ideas into transformative solutions. The future of medical technology is being shaped today — and CGC is proud to be part of this journey.
