HUDDLE 2025

6G: The New Frontier

Making the business case for new technologies and emerging markets

As the mobile industry debates the ROI from 4G and 5G, the path to 6G remains uncertain—raising critical questions about sustainability, profitability, and innovation.
WWRF Huddle 2025 will explore how 6G can deliver on the promises of ubiquitous intelligence, sustainability, and digital transformation. Through focused discussions on spectrum, security, standards, and emerging use cases, the event will address global priorities while highlighting regional opportunities, particularly in Latin America.

In the fast-evolving mobile and wireless world, it’s easy to focus on the technology i.e.—what’s new, what’s next, what’s ground-breaking. However, there is ongoing debate within the wireless industry over the profitability and return on investment on 4G and 5G, and what this may mean for next-generation technologies from the business perspective. Many feel that the industry is moving too fast, resulting in reluctance to commit resources on 6G research and development.

WWRF’s 2025 Huddle will look at how we can rehabilitate 6G R&D in a way that operators can seamlessly transition from 4G/5G to 6G while preserving their revenue potential from 5G and evolve to benefitting from 6G, especially from the overarching visions of ubiquitous connectivity for all, ubiquitous intelligence and sustainability as stipulated by ITU IMT-2030 framework.

The Huddle will discuss ways in which 6G will enable the convergence of the physical world with the digital world and support new use cases and applications to provide value to end users. The Huddle will focus on the sub themes of security, sustainability, novel applications, spectrum, emerging standards and the digital transformation of society. Participants will gain a broad overview of the current status of mobile communications and learn about the techno-economic challenges facing 6G.
