MetaCities Excellence Hub in South-Eastern Europe team prominently featured at the 5G Techritory event in Riga taking place on 22-23/10/2025. Metacities discussions focused on urban digital transformation, metaverse-ready infrastructures, and the strategic role of next-gen networks. The Techritory’s central theme, “Connected Futures through Digital Paths,” aligns with the Metacities agenda: exploring how highly integrated digital platforms, immersive technologies, and smart data infrastructure can shape future urban environments Marios Nicolaou Didoe Prevedourou SmartAvatar B.V.

METACITIES project will establish an Excellence Hub that spans a large geographical area, that of Southeastern Europe, represented by three clusters in Cyprus, Greece, and Bulgaria. Each cluster consists of partners involved in the Quadruple Helix (i.e., scientific, industrial, social, public) with the aim to collaboratively design common digital Research and Innovation strategies, policies, and joint pilots, orchestrated towards the benefit of the citizens, the stakeholders, the local ecosystems and the growth of the whole southeast European region.
