The CELTIC-NEXT project DRIVING-6G brings together partners from 12 organisations in 8 countries across Europe to collaborating for 30 months and develop a more intelligent, efficient and sustainable 6G Radio Access Network (RAN), combining advanced technologies such as AI/ML, Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) and Digital Twins.
With one shared goal: Shaping the future of sustainable 6G connectivity
DRIVING-6G IS BUILT AROUND THREE INNOVATION PILLARS
• Joint sensing and communication
• AI-native network intelligence
• Multi-dimensional business models
AND THROUGH REAL-WORLD TESTING AND INNOVATIVE APPROACHES, THE PROJECT AIMS TO ENABLE
• Real-time optimisation of radio, sensing and computing resources
• Greater energy efficiency
• Reduced OPEX and CAPEX
• High throughput and ultra-low latency
• Smarter and more adaptive 6G networks
DRIVING-6G is coordinated by Albena Mihovska, Ph.D. and Prof. Peter Lindgren CGC ApS.
The project has officially kicked off on 1 July 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye, and is working towards the next generation of intelligent and sustainable Radio Access Networks.
