Special Session on MIMO Technologies for Beyond 5G and Towards 6G
The increasing reliance of society on wireless communications, along with the emergence of disruptive applications (e.g. smart cities, digital economy and agriculture, and e-health) has stipulated the development of the 5G wireless networks. Recently, the first version of 5G New Radio (NR) with massive MIMO was standardized by 3GPP and the corresponding commercial networks took place in 2018. Though this first 5G NR is expected to offer very high data throughput, communication reliability, and network connectivity, there are still many technical challenges in relation to the MIMO technologies of this 5G NR that are not satisfactorily addressed in previous studies….
