The increasing reliance of society on wireless communications, along with the emergence of disruptive applications (e.g. smart cities, digital economy and agriculture, and e-health) has stipulated the development of the 5G wireless networks. Recently, the first version of 5G New Radio (NR) with massive MIMO was standardized by 3GPP and the corresponding commercial networks took place in 2018.
